Designing the Place of Remembrance

The City of Highland Park sought qualifications from experienced architects, artists, designers, and design teams to create a permanent place of remembrance to honor the memory of the victims of the Highland Park shooting, pay tribute to the community’s resilient spirit, especially those who were injured, and provide places for reflection, remembrance, and solace.

The permanent place of remembrance will have two locations:

• a prominent, primary place of remembrance at the Rose Garden adjacent to City Hall

• a subtle, secondary place of remembrance at Port Clinton Plaza
